Hi, Iā€™m Kelly Douglas.

For 20 years, I have worked with people to help them unlearn negative behaviors and thinking patterns, replacing them with new habits and ideas that support the changes they want to make. Through experiencing success, most people find a new sense of accomplishment that improves their mood, enabling them to take better care of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My Approach

I work primarily in a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy mode (REBT). This theory was developed by Albert Ellis. It is extremely effective in helping clients achieve balance between these areas of their lives, allowing the therapist to draw from a variety of interventions, such as homework, role-playing, meditation, journaling, as well as traditional talk therapy.

Success is a highly individual thing. I want my clients to believe that they are able to make decisions and life choices with confidence and clarity. Whether or not the decision is a happy one or not, I want my clients to know that they can take care of themselves well, and they are doing the right thing. This may not be easy, but over time clients will develop more trust in themselves.

In addition to individual counseling, I also offer couples counseling to help strengthen and improve relationships using the Gottman Method.
